Here is a great recipe for TWISTED BREAD (SNOBRØD) made over the bonfire / BBQ embers. The whole family will enjoy it.

Dough for app. 6 people: 3dl water, 25g yeast, 1tsp salt, 500g flour (maybe also add some seeds, herbs, grated cheese or ham to the dough ...)

Add the yeast to lukewarm water and stir. Once the yeast has dissolved add salt, then flour. Mix it first with a spoon (or a stick) and then knead it well with your hands. Cover with a tea towel and leave it to rest whilst getting the fire going - you want hot embers for the baking, not flames.

You will need to find a long, straight, finger-thick stick for each person. With a penknife make the thin end pointed and also de-bark app. 20cm. (You could also wrap it in foil) Take 1 portion of dough, make it into a looong sausage and twist it around the stick starting at the top.

You are now ready to bake it over the embers. The bread will slide off the stick when it is cooked through.  Tip: Don't be too close to the fire as you bread will go black. Be patient, it is worth it.
